On Wednesday evening the QUT Visual Arts Graduate Exhibition, Epoch, opened to the public. The exhibition features a diverse range of works produced by students graduating from QUT’s Open Studio art teaching program.
QUT’s Open Studio environment encourages self-directed and intensive study. Speculative inquiry and combinatory play are foregrounded with the various dimensions of creative practice in the Open Studio community.
Students produced the exhibited artworks in their final year and the pieces range across media forms, including moving image, performance, painting, sculpture and installation.
The annual Eyeline Prize was awarded to Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) graduating student, Molly Wilson. Eyeline Executive Editor Sarah Follent presented the award to Molly for her works, Raw II and Flow (see photo).
Visual Arts Lecture, Rachael Haynes and Sessional Academic, Simone Hine joined Sarah in wishing all the graduating students the best in their next steps.
Eyeline is looking forward to the postgraduate showcase, Excerpts 2019, when it opens on Thursday 21st of November.
